Richaud Petite Bakery
BRANDING | WEBSITE | STOREFRONT & MARKETING ROLLOUT
Following a collaborative partnership spanning several years, I executed a comprehensive rebrand for Richaud Petite Bakery to mark its evolution into a physical storefront. The updated brand ecosystem infuses playful energy across a expansive color palette, grounding the bakery's traditional wholesale mastery in a vibrant brick-and-mortar consumer experience.
The Creative Challenge
Having previously operated with a highly restrictive, single-color identity, Richaud had grown fatigue with a singular palette and needed a more dynamic visual language to open his West Village storefront.
The core challenge was to design a robust, multi-tonal identity that could inject a sense of fun and flexibility into his marketing while providing foundational creative direction for outside interior designers, architects, and packaging manufacturers.
I had to ensure a seamless visual thread ran from his early "coming soon" web teaser straight into the real-world construction site and permanent physical architecture.
Brand Identity & Logo
To build a world that felt both established and delightfully fresh, we designed an elegant font-only main logo paired with flexible circular and square sub-mark variations.
Moving away from the singular red of his past, we curated a playful yet sophisticated vintage palette of forest green, deep red, crisp navy, and warm cream, giving the brand a vast playground of colors to deploy across different mediums.
This foundation was so distinct that it informed the eventual structural design of the physical shop and served as the direct artwork roadmap for the bakery’s custom product packaging.
Website Design & Build
Because Lauren drives the vast majority of her traffic and audience marketing through Instagram, the website architecture was built with a mobile-first philosophy, utilizing Squarespace for its highly optimized mobile interface.
We methodically strategized each page layout to act as an intentional client conversion funnel, guiding prospective athletes smoothly from curiosity to consultation.
Beyond the front-end user experience, the system delivers a robust, easy-to-edit backend framework, giving Lauren the full flexibility she needs to update her coaching services and content long after the design launch.
Storefront & Marketing Rollout
Bridging the digital and physical realms, I managed the core marketing assets required to bring the storefront to life during construction and beyond. I designed a cohesive environmental suite, including custom window and entry door decals, a prominent hanging external sign, posters, and premium business cards to drive face-to-face neighborhood connection.
On the digital front, this tangible, textured street presence was mirrored across social channels through a synchronized Instagram launch kit, wholesale menus, maximizing community traction from day one.
